Artist’s Statement

It has been stated that “the goal of education is to make you curious” and for me photography is what best allows me to explore my own curiosity. In its grandest sense, it has opened up the world to me, creating an appreciation of the nature, people and cultures far different from my own; and in its finest sense, has allowed me to explore infinite combinations of light, color and texture.

I have been passionate about photography for over half a century. As a diagnostic radiologist I have looked deeply into the human body in an attempt to help patients. Photography has allowed me to look outside the body into its surroundings and occasionally back again into its soul.

I want my works to inspire feelings of thoughtfulness, serenity and wonder in the majesty of simple beauty. To me the magic of photography is to capture a distinct meaningful moment and provide the timeless gift of experiencing that moment over and over again.
